FCDM is now recognised by Google as an expert in Mobile Site Optimisation

Google recently launched a Mobile Sites certification program which offers developers the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in mobile website development. We are delighted to announce that our team at FCDM have successfully achieved this certification today.

Having this fantastic certification means that FCDM is now recognised by Google as an expert in mobile site optimisation. The certification demonstrates that we have an excellent proficiency across mobile site design, mobile UX best practice, mobile site speed optimisation and advanced web technologies.

Mobile now accounts for over half of all web traffic, making performance on a variety of screens more important than ever. According to Google, despite this increase the average time it takes to load a mobile landing page is 22 seconds. When you consider that 53% of mobile site visitors will leave a site if it takes more than three seconds to load, it’s clear why conversion rates are consistently lower on mobile than desktop.

The exam tested our team on knowledge of mobile website concepts including:

• Value proposition of mobile sites
• How to evaluate site speed and UX performance and how to improve mobile site speed
• Technical implementation for increasing mobile site speed
• How to create an effective user experience for mobile sites
• UX principles for mobile sites
• Understanding advanced technologies i.e. Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) and Progressive Web Apps (PWA)

The new certificate joins our supporting successful certifications for Google AdWords and Google Analytics in Google’s Partner program.
